报告人简介：Motomu obtained his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Kiyoshi Tomioka at Osaka University in 1996. Later he moved to University of Wisconsin, working as a postdoc under the guidance of Professor Laura L. Kiessling. In 1997, he started his research as assistant professor in the research group of Prof. Shibasaki at the University of Tokyo. In 2003, he was promoted to associate professor and in 2010 he was promoted to professor. Currently, he is the leader of Synthetic Organic Chemistry Lab at graduate school of pharmaceutical sciences University of Tokyo. The research areas of his group include: 1) development of new modes of catalysis to facilitate complex molecule synthesis; 2) development of new strategies for clean, robust, and concise synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds; 3) mechanistic studies of new modes of catalysis.
