报告摘要:Engineering the local structure of inorganic compounds can lead to novel crystal structures and physical and chemical properties. For local structure engineering, stereochemically active lone pair electrons (LPEs) of p-block cations, such as 6s2 electrons in Bi3+, can act as ‘chemical scissors’ to tailor the local structures. From the perspective of anions, the anisotropic anion environment in mixed anionic compounds is a good way to adjust the local structure. Bismuth-based mixed-anion compounds, which combine these two strategies for local structures engineering, show rich structural chemistry. This lecture will describe the unique structure and specific properties of three bismuth-based mixed-anion compounds: (1) Bi4NbO8Br with newly found lone-pair-induced polarizations. (2) Bi4AO6Cl2 (A = Ba, Sr, Ca) with double/triple fluorite layers for visible-light-responsive water splitting. (3) BiSF with distorted PbFCl-type structure synthesized under high pressure.

报告人简介:钟承超博士于2022年获得日本京都大学物质能源化学专攻博士学位,主要研究方向为固体化学。博士期间获日本学术振兴会特别研究员DC1资格。2022年开始在日本立命馆大学生命科学部应用化学科担任助教,主要研究方向为固体电解质。
