We have synthesized stable norcorrole Ni(II) complexes and investigated their properties, which are markedly different from aromatic porphyrins. Recently, we found that norcorroles can form extremely close π–π stacking, which leads to the emergence of the stacked-ring aromaticity between two antiaromatic systems.
