报告题目:The Breaking and Mending of Porphyrins: Synthesis of Porphyrinoids Incorporating Non-Pyrrolic Heterocycles
报 告 人:Christian Brückner教授(美国康涅狄格大学) 报告时间:2016年6月30号(周四)10:00 报告地点:校本部HA102 邀 请 人:张展教授 主办单位:理学院化学系 Christian Brückner教授现任美国康涅狄格大学化学系主任,国际知名卟啉化学家。Brückner教授长期致力于卟啉环的修饰、新型卟啉及新型光敏剂的合成研究,特别在合成近红外吸收光敏剂领域取得了重要成果,现已发表SCI论文120多篇,其中10多篇JACS/Angew文章,有5项专利成果,并出版10多部专著。Brückner教授多次受邀在国际学术大会上报告并多次获得国际奖项,是新一代卟啉化学家的代表。
报告摘要:
Naturally occurring porphyrins and hydroporphyrins vary with respect to their ring substituents and oxidation states, but their tetrapyrrolic frameworks remain fully preserved across all kingdoms of life; there are no naturally occurring porphyrin-like macrocycles known that contain non-pyrrolic building blocks.The modulation of the electronic properties of porphyrins–particularly with respect to their wavelengths of absorption and emission–is desirable for their utilization in numerous technical and medical applications. Our group developed synthetic strategies toward the conversion of one or two pyrrolic building blocks in porphyrins into different 4-, 5-, and 6-membered heterocycles, forming so-called 'pyrrole-modified porphyrins'. We report on the scope and limits of applying class ring expansion reactions to expanding a pyrrole within the steric constraints of the porphyrinic macrocycle. We will describe to which extend these modifications affect the chemical reactivity, conformation, conformational flexibility, and photochemical properties of the resulting porphyrin-, chlorin-, and bacteriochlorin-analogues. The utilization of the chromophores in chemosensing and optical and photo-acoustic imaging applications is briefly highlighted.
